Technical Recommendation EUROMAP 81 published

Optimized safety for machine connection

The new specification EUROMAP 81 provides a standardized hardware connection for the exchange of safety signals between two machines.

This interface can be used when non-safety-related signals are transmitted via other interfaces (e.g. OPC UA). An example use case would be the connection between an injection moulding machine and a robot.

The specification is separated into two parts for the usage of one or two safety devices. That means that safety signals from two separate safety devices (e.g. front and rear side of the machine) can now be transmitted via one interface.

The specification can be found here to download: https://www.euromap.org/technical-issues/technical-recommendations (at ‘General’)
